Cultural Experience 1 Puede ser Garfield, pero maldita la buena
My friend and I decided to go to Peoria after school for some Chinese food after school the other day. We cruising down Main st. and I saw a Chinese Restaurant right before University street. As we were walking across the steet I noticed a sign that said thanh LINH out of the corner of my eye. I looked at my buddy and asked what the hell it was. I knew it was in Vietnamese so I decided to walk over and see what it was. I read the window and it said, "thanh LINH Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine. I turned back to Kurt and told him that we should check it out because I needed a cultural experience, and I had never had Vietnamese food before. When we walked in, it was nothing like I expected. It was very small with a lot of tables crammed into the room. There were pictures of Vietnamese babies and children decorating the walls along with very detailed and enthralling Vietnamese art. We were greeted at the door by a Vietnamese guy that reminded me of Tao from Gran Torino. He was a very respectable guy and spoke perfect English. We decided to sit down and look at the menu. After a few minutes of consideration we both decided to just get the buffet. There were many different foods that I had nevr tried before. Amongst those were many different Vietnamese prepaed "chicken" dishes. LOL. They were all very good, especially the Curry Chicken. If you havent had it before you should totally try it. The taste is undescribable. It tastes like........everything. The culture was very different there. There was no salt or pepper in the whole place. They have soy sauce and other hot sauces in place of them. The only thing I didnt like about the place was the mix cd playing over and over on the cd player. Too much Bon Jovi for me. There was always a waitress right there to pick up your plate or refill your drink. So if you want a good, hospitable experience at a low cost, check out thanh LINH at 1223 W. Main St. Peoria

Pila Humeante de las Palabras, final de blog
I decided that my last blog of the semester should be somewhat of a reflective essay about this class. Coming into English 110 I didn't care about writing, or even want to be there. Basically the only reason I was even in the class is because English is a requirement in my degree progress. I thought that the class was going to boring, and that I would do horrible in it.
After meeting Stephanie, I realized that the class would be a lot of work but contrary to my belief could be a lot of fun. As the weeks progressed I got more and more into my writing, and I learned quite a few things that I hadn't ever cared about before. I now looking at writing as a talent and priviledge, and not as a punishment. English 110 was actually one of my favorite classes this semester, aside from my Film Class. Although I didn't enjoy all of the writing assignments, I felt they had some significance on me. They all brought me out of my shell, and helped me learn that I could write things out of my own orthodox world.
I'm glad that I had the opportunity to meet Stephanie, and to experience this class. I think that Stephanie is an excellent teacher. After having English 110, I did everything in my power to get in Stephanie's 111 class. I'm really looking forward to next semester. I believe that my writing is going to improve significantly over the next two years here at ICC.

***Thou Shall not spill thy seed***
Family Guy is by far the funniest, yet most controversial shows on television. It is one of my favorite shows, and I'm sick of people complaining about what the show is doing wrong. Sure it is blasphemous to some and very derogatory to others. Oh well....don't watch it if you don't like it. One example of blasphemy was on an episode that I watched last night. Lois was the new church organist, and the priest was reading out of the bible. He said "and the lord said thou shall not spill thy seed in your dirty gym sock, shove it to the bottom of the hamper and pretend it has been there forever." I busted out laughing so hard that I almost choked on my water I was drinking. My friend, being a bible banger was instantly defended, which is understandable. He told me to turn it off and I told him that he knew what he was getting into when he started watching it. It isn't blasphemy to an Aetheist or too someone who can take a joke. Another thing he gets offended by is all of Stewie's gay innuendo, which again I find fucking hilarious. In the new episode last night, Brian took his new fiancee up stairs to make love to her, in Stewie's room. You see Stewie's cib fly out of the room, bounce off a wall, fly down the stairs, and out the front door. When Stewie gets i the front yard, the sprinklers turn on and spray all over his face. He starts rubbing it in and says, "Ooh Shia, hit me with all you got." Again I'm dying, knowing that he is talking about Shia Labeouf.
Family Guy is just hilarious. Anyone that gets offended by it should be committed in my opinion. Time to grow up or stop watching the show. Come on people. This shit is great.

Me as a writer ****
I dont really know how I'm improving as a writer. Life has been extremely hard lately and it has been taking a toll on my writing. My grandma had to have another surgery for her cancer, my friend committed suicide, and work has been hell. That was wednesday two weeks ago and it hasnt got much better. I've been working my ass off, and I feel like I havent accomplished a fucking thing lately.
One thing that I have realized though is when I do sit down lately, my writing seems to flow pretty well. I havent had much of a chance to write lately because I have been at work all the time, and havent had a keyboard. Oh yes....that piece of shit broke too. I'm not trying to ramble here but Im so damn frustrated with my writing and life in general right now.
I am not real sure how I'm doing on this Ad Analysis. It is very confusing too me because I have never done any writing like this before. Derick did my peer response and that helped me out a lot, I think. I am just trying to get my mind back into the game and write better. Life is starting to turn around a little bit finally so we will see what happens. I really need to get a new keyboard because it s very hard to type when I have to keep retyping everything. Im setting a goal to get my mojobck thogh. LOL.

Your mother likes my writing
So, I waited until the last minute to write my blog. I don't really think that I have too much to say about my writing. Basically, I dont really think Ive gotten much better since the last blog I wrote. I feel like I had that false sense of security and misconception about my writing. I mean for instance, I thought I wrote a nearly perfect travel essay. I really enjoyed writing it, until I saw all the shit that I needed to revise. Then I realized yet again, that my writing on this paper sucked too. I had said last week that my punctuation was getting better, but apparantely I can't punctuate dialogue to save my life. I am very dissapointed in the way that my writing is going right now. I think that I should be advancing a lot better and a lot faster than I am. I used to consider myself a well-rounded and good writer until I got older, and saw all the real standards of writing. Plus, I am kind of pissed that I can't express myself the way I want to. I can't use the F-bomb when I want to. This may not seem like a big deal to most people but I'm just trying to get a point across. I believe this is Chad's blog, not Kayleigh's blog, Rodney's blog, Derick's blog, Stephanie's blog, Jesus' blog. I'm just using names as an example, so don't freak out everybody. LOL. I'm writing these blogs for me not to please you. I'm not trying to be an asshole but sometimes using the words some people don't like helps me express my writing. I'm a very dramatic and outspoken writer at times. I believe freedom of speech is my constitutional right, and nobody is forcing you to read my blogs. I understand even now that if I was writing in a professional stting that myabe this wouldn't be as appropriate, but I believe the whole point of me writing these blogs is to express myself. If I have to express myself up to someone elses standards, what it the point of even doing them? Nobody told Tom Clany or Stephen King what words they could or couldn't use when writing. Wow....I think my ranting and being pissed off is probably the best writing i've done this semester.

The Breaks
The Breaks
I couldnt really think of anything to write this week, so I decided that maybe I should blog about a movie. I haven't done that yet, so I figured what the hell. The movie I'm going to talk about is in my opinion....The funniest movie ever made. The Breaks is a hilarious comedy starring Mitch Mullany. If you like movies such as Friday and Don't Be a Menace While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, you will most definitely love this movie. Mitch Mullany plays Derrick, an Irish white boy who thinks that he is black. The movie takes place in the hood of South Central where he lives. It is basically covering one day where everything that can possibly go wrong, does. Derick has to deal with jail, a missing boy, attempted rape, and tons of other things that you can't possibly imagine. The movie sends Derick on a quest for milk for his black mother, and just turns into a crazy movie from there. It is a laugh a second movie and I reccomend it to everyone that likes comedy. The movie has Derick taking a test administered by professional basketball player Gary Payton. He has to pass the test to basically prove that he is black, so that he can talk to "The Master." Of course he is tripping on some bad weed when he is taking this test. Lol. Other actors in this movie are Carl Anthony Payne II, Paula Jai Parker, Clifton Powell, Loretta Devine and the Godfather of Funk....George Clinton. I reccomend that everyone checks this movie out. It may be hard to find. I had to order it from Borders. This is Mitch Mullany's only movie that he ever made. God rest his soul. You may know him from his stand up comedy career. Check it out.
Finally remembered to do week 3 blog over. Lol
I am so tired of all these rappers selling out for money. It just pisses me off so much. I write my music to get my lyrics out there and to get my frustrations out. Sure it would be nice to get paid to do it, but I'm not going to stop doing it just because I'm not getting paid. If someone wants to see my lyrics, I have no problem showing off my talent with no compensation. Why cant all these punk ass rappers do that too? I love rap music more than anything and respect what some rappers do, but have total disrespect for that. I mean, look at all the rappers who won't do a show because they didn't sell enough tickets to make what they think they're worth. They should just worry about getting there shit out there and doing it for the people that did come out to support them. My favorite rapper is Ludacris but he cancelled a show back in 2007 because of lack of ticket sales. Go figure, a show that I had tickets for. Plus most the time, you dont get your money back. Another example is Lady Gaga and Kanye West just cancelled there whole tour due to lack of ticket sales. Lady Gaga has enough musical talent that she needs to show off and not worry about that money. If money is that important, Why the fuck would you go on tour with Kanye's punk ass. I love his old music but now he is just a money hungry, egotistical, asshole. Lil Wayne cancelled his Toronto show on August 18th due to lack of ticket sales. You have enough money already dickhead. Get out there and perform. Maybe if he would lay off his crack addiction he would be alright. Anyways, I just wish that these rappers would go out and promote their lyrics and not worry about the fucking money. Trust me....It's not that hard.

Here we go again
Hmm....me as a writer. I think I'm getting a lot better at writing as the weeks progress. I'm starting to get used to not being able to write about what i want, finally. It's all good. I guess I can't do everything that I want to do. I have noticed that I'm able to write pretty much anytime now, instead of just writing at midnight or later. Lol. My best time to write now is probably between 9 p.m. and 12:00 am. I'm still having trouble with budgeting my time to write though. I'm way to busy but I'm trying to dedicate myself to school. I am starting to enjoy writing a lot more than I used too, when i was younger and at the beginning of the semester for that matter. I am strongly considering writing another book like the one i wrote my freshman year, again. I think with my new found experiences and things that I have learned in this class, that i can do it. One thing that I was having trouble with is punctuating/spacing my dialogues in papers. Stephanie showed me how to do it, and that has helped me out quite a bit. I think I'm getting a lot better at punctuations and grammar. I know I'm not perfect with it, nor will I ever be. I see a big improvement now than when i started, though. I hope that as the weeks progress in this class, that I will get even better at writing. Plus, maybe I can start writing my book. I guess I will just have to see where it goes from here. Chad has left the building. LOL.

Parking Sucks
I think everyone here knows that the parking situation pretty much sucks at ICC. I mean come on, 11,000 students most of which drive with no where near enough parking spots. Then we have an over abundance of staff parking. Can the students legally park there though. Hell No!! Plus there are no shuttle buses on fridays. I guess they want me to show up at 7:30 am to make my 10:00 class, when I'm forced to park at the east campus. Then last friday it's raing like crazy, and low and behold....no damn bus. Can i find a parking spot near the building or catch that elusive shuttle bus? Fuck no, I get to sit in math class, drenched.
Maybe the school should consider fixing this problem. It would probably help with attendance and make students actually want to show up for class. I have a few people in my classes who frequently miss or are tardy because of the parking issues. I feel that it is unacceptable that we're spending all this money on our education, to have problems making it to class.
There are more than a few ways to solve this problem in my opinion. One thing that I think would help is to run the shuttle bus on fridays. The drivers complain that they dont have very man y riders on fridays, so they don't run. What about the students who are forced to park out in the east campus? With the millions of dollars the college is bringing in from us, I think they can afford to pay the driver's meniscule checks for a few people. Another option would be to give the teachers assigned parking spots and free up some of the unused spots for student parking. Although I took the chance of getting a ticket; I parked in staff parking last friday. The staff parking was almost empty when I parked there, and there were still many spots available when I got out of class. That should tell you that you dont need that much staff parking. Yet I spend 35 minutes crusing student parking to no evail. They could also require psrking stickers for students, and tow anyone who doesn't have one. Towing cars would be more money that could be finagled out of us. The stickers should be on a first come, first serve basis. The final option that I looked at was tearing up some of the grass out there and developing another parking lot. I don't know about everyone else but Im here for education, not to take in the scenery. I just needed to get this shito ff my chest cuz I've been fuming since friday. I'm almost positive that I'm not alone on the subject. Peace, Love, and chicken grease.

Me as a writer AGAIN
As the weeks progress here in English 110, I find myself changing up my writing still a little bit. Im starting to get used to not being able to write what I want to write about. I mean I still dont really like it, but It's getting easier day by day. I am starting to be able to focus better and write more. Although, I am having alot of trouble understanding the whole concept of the Autoethnograpy. I'm sure my paper is going to suck and it's going to ruin my perfect GPA that I have going right now. I still dont have much confidence in writing what others tell me to write or anything besides my music. Im not lacking as bad as I used to though. I think as the weeks go on, I will get alot better than I am. My focus level has changed somewhat from when I first started writing though. I can't write anything in the Library at school anymore. The Librarians and helpers are all loud and disrespectful, and I can't focus at all there. I have been getting used to sleepless nights of cramming my papers in at home. Other than school, I dont have time except in the middle of the night. It's still hard for me to focus without music or someone to talk too. I have noticed that it's getting easier and easier to use descriptive words and learn to use new words that I've never had a reason to use anymore. I do think overall that I'm starting to progress in my writing styles and ability's though.

My song 3rd Blog
So Stephanie told me that I should put some of my songs on here. I figured it would be a good 3rd blog. Let me know what you think. It's totally not a style people would expect out of me. I dont really put my lyrics out there much but here goes nothing:
Shut your mouth man, I dont want to hear what your saying
Talking shit cuz I'm sitting here praying
Might of made alot of mistakes; trying to get god on my side
You can take anything you want from me, but you cant take my pride
Dont got the Escalade with 28 inch chrome dubs
Dont get to hit up the VIP section in the clubs
Dont want to be like every other rapper, buying my hoes
Dont need to show off my P. Miller, Enyce, or Sean John clothes
Start thinking about someone besides yourself
Wouldnt be shit without your fucking wealth
Didnt have women or anything until you struck it rich
Think about it asshole, stop being such a bitch
My lyrics are just as good as yours, but I aint getting paid
Dont have any money, thats okay, I aint getting played
Your lives are so hard, going to those little private schools
Your not a fucking gangsta, what do you take us for, fools
You werent raised in a ghetto, you werent surrounded by thugs
Your childhood didnt make you how you are, you got your dumbass into drugs
I'll be honest, I have tried drugs and I live in a lil hick town
I dont have alot of money, I have been pushed around
I aint rich, but I dont have to pay for my sex
I aint a fucking playa, my girls dont sleep with my paychecks
Whats wrong man, admit what I say is true
Go ahead, come back at me with anything you want to
I know that I dont have all the luxuries you got in your life
I know I aint married, but again, I aint gonna buy my wife
I dont have the platinum chain, or a $100,000 watch on my wrist
I dont blind you with my bling when i make a fist
Dont need bodyguards watching my ass all the time
Cant talk and buy my way out of every fucking crime
Cant afford to wipe my ass with my money
Your life's so hard, thats so fucking funny
You sing and get drunk at night, dont do shit all day
Rapping aint a job, it's no work and all play
Not getting paid $10,000 to do a concert, cancel it and pout
Why cant you do it just to get your lyrics out
Whats the point of a 60,000 square foot mansion and a car for every day of the week
What the fuck would you do if you didnt get paid every time you speak
Try thinking and letting your lyrics flow out of your pen
Pour out your heart and stop worrying about how much money it'll bring in
Shut your mouth man, I dont want to hear what your saying
Talking shit cuz I'm sitting here praying

GET IN THERE JIMMY BLOG WEEK 2
Hmmm...me as a writer. I don't even really know where to start. I really enjoy writing very much. I think that I'm a decent writer on certain occasions. Pretty much, what im saying is that I write good when I dont have to play by the rules. I like to choose my own subjects and write without having to worry about correcting my mistakes.
However, I want to become a better writer. I don't think I would be as picky about my writer if i was better at it. I'm not very good at sitting down and writing something, that someone tells me I have to write. Usually when I choose my own subject, the words flow out of my pen like musical lyrics. What I mean by that is when I write music, it just flows through my mind like everyday thoughts. Also, Im not very good with punctuation. Im sure that you've figured that put by now though. LOL. I have trouble with where to put commas, and where to end thoughts in my sentences.
I'm hoping that this class will bring me out of my shell, and help me become a more conditioned writer. I also hope that it will help me learn how to play by the rules of good writing. I say that for a couple different reasons. Number one, is that I would like to be able to think more clearly about subjects other than those I choose. Also, I want to lean how to punctuate my writings correctly. I think that learning these things will help me to become an excellent writer, someday. I really dont have anything else to say about my writing at this point. I guess I'm still just hell bent on writing my own thing. Hopefully I can come out of this kick pretty soon. Anyways, I think I'm going to stop writing now. Until next time....I'm out.

APA Pool Leagues a school subject???
In my opinion APA pool leagues are very helpful, and closely related to school. You may not realize it, so i'm going to explain it to you. That is why I enjoy pool leagues so much.
First of all, APA pool leagues are closely related to Geometry. Tp be successful at pool leagues you have to know accurate angles. Knowing the angles helps with your bank and kick shots.
